FAQ

General FAQ

Q...What are the rules for Drunken PvP?
A...You must be 21 to participate.  Each time you die in PvP, you must take a drink of an alcoholic beverage.  Each time the GM dies in PvP, you must take a drink.

Q...Do we raid end-game?
A...Yes, BLMC has raided end game in every MMO we have ever played.  If there is end game content in the game we are currently playing, we will be completing it.

Q...Will we use DKP or Merit, etc?
A...Loot Council.  No member of a raid will receive more than one epic item if others of their class have not received any epics for that raid.  One epic per person per raid unless no one else wants the epic.

Q...Do we PvP or WvW?
A...We love pvp and wvw!  We play on PvP servers every chance we get.  We have a long history of pvp.  You can see some of the videos in our video gallery.

Q...Does BLMC have a dedicated Voice Chat Server?
A...Yes.  It is required in all dungeons, raids and pvp.

Q...Should I use my (in-guild) main character's name for the forums and Teamspeak also?
A...Yes, it will help us to identify you so we don't accidentally remove you during forum member maintenance or teamspeak server use.

Q...Is Age 18 the minimum age to join the guild?
A...Yes, exceptions are rare.  Most of us are mid to late twenties up into our fifties.

Q...Are there any other criteria for joining the guild?
A...Be at least 18 and don't act like a douche.

Q...What is the current Hierarchy in Black Legion Mercenary Company?
A...See the "Officers" page for details.

Q...Is divisive drama allowed?
A...No.  You will be removed from the guild for divisive drama...quickly.

Q...Is my 12-year-old kid allowed to play my character in my stead during a guild raid?
A...No.

Q...If I have complaints, who should I address?
A...Any officer or GM.

Q...If I need advice about wife-agro, who should I consult?
A...Your priest.

Q...If I'm a Japanese schoolgirl that needs help with the game, who should I ask?
A...If you are a Japanese schoolgirl you shouldn't be in BLMC.  Unless you are a Japanese college schoolgirl.

Q...Is BLMC politically incorrect?
A...Yes, at times we are.  We mean no harm by it.  We just don't carry the banner that all things must be politically correct.  If you are at all politically correct, you probably wont be a good fit here.

Q...Should I join BLMC if I wear my feelings on my sleeves?
A...No, you shouldn't.

Officer FAQ

To be a BLMC Officer is to be in the service of your guild.  A position in which you foster a better gaming experience for everyone.  It is a selfless duty that requires time and a desire to see BLMC succeed.

Primary duty:   Handling your respective duty to the guild.

Secondary duty:    Recruiting new members.

Tertiary duty:    Document violations of guild policies (Officer Forum).

Do officers get any perks/compensation for being an officer?
No, BLMC officers are an all volunteer force.

What's in it for me?
The satisfaction of selflessly serving your guild and your fellow guildies.

Are officers allowed to unilatterally "kick" members from the guild?
If a member is acting like a complete tool, officers are allowed to remove them with extreme prejudice.  Additionally, we will all joke about what a dick the person was.

Are officers allowed to resign from their position at any time and rejoin the regular member pool, for any reason at all?
Yes, for those of you who've served BLMC as an officer up until now, thank you very kindly indeed for your selfless service!

Article grounds for immediate dismissal from officer status:

1)  An officer is rude, mean, disrespectful, etc, in any unwelcoming way to anyone in-game, TS3, etc.

2)  An officer unilatterally "kicks" a member from the guild for reasons other than "being a douche".

3)  An officer that doesn't attend to the guild forums, especially policy related threads in the Officer Forum that request their "affirmation".

4)  An officers "last seen" in-game or in-forums is greater than 7 days w/o prior notice.

5)  An officer causes / fuels drama by arguing openly in game, TS3, etc.

If you have an ongoing problem with a short fuse and tend to express your temper publicly, via derogatory remarks direct / indirect / subtle / etc, hostile sarcasm, creating harmful gossip, in-game character action, etc, regardless of whether it was deserved or not; please first carefully consider how difficult it will be to lead by example in that kind of state, when considering whether or not to apply for the position of BLMC Officer.

FYI: There are various reasons why applications may not be approved immediately, if you're sincere about serving as an officer of BLMC, please be patient and remember to check your guild forum mail regularly for updates, etc.

Thank you!
